"Wha... What?"

Victoria had not quite expected it to end this way. She felt it at least a little inconsiderate, after a few moments of thinking, for whoever was responsible to have made Star vanish, like that. It was only after she had been reassured that her lover girl was, in fact, elsewhere, that the brunette felt able to ease up on the caution.

And so... A wish.

Victoria blinked, at first. Wanted to know why. The cosmic roles logic... She actually accepted more readily than most. To her, it sort of made sense, although the vampiress did take the opportunity to ask a couple of questions about why certain particularly painful events in her life had taken place.

The sort of thing most people claimed they would do, but most probably turned out to be too stunned to remember to do.

She would have mentioned a number of things. Should have, really. Whimpered, a little, at knowing the opportunity to consciously decide upon something had been thwarted by the dormant portion of her mind. Still, if there was one constant about Victoria Foxworth, it was that she was willing to compromise and, in hope that she had not inadvertently wished for something horrid, nodded in agreement, spoke of hoping to be back there, one day, if it could be helped, then found herself right back where she started.

In Star's arms, she realised, with a smile. Where it counted.

It took some thinking, before she realised what the wish had been. In some ways, the vampiress regretted that she was not more materialistic, like Deanna, for her first impulse might have otherwise been to own a chain of vampire-themed hotels and the like. What it turned out to be, though, possessed a certain... Charm, all of its own.

And one, she realised, which would last down the ages.

Victoria wasted little time in making a very special purchase, indeed. Lotions could be sticky and hellish for laundry, but edible body paints... She had never tried those. There was no point in it, after all. Victoria had never quite figured it out, but while she could taste sweat and certain other natural oils, the only thing which really lit her taste buds on fire, was blood. She could remember speaking with Leah, of her regret over being unable to taste chocolate and how, when travelling temporarily through time, to Pearl Harbour, with humanity renewed, had taken the opportunity to do just that.

But now she could do so, again.

In fact, she could taste anything she desired.

Ordinary foods might hold no nutritional value, but by heavens, she could now at least enjoy them! Ice cream, too! Anything she wanted to!

That familiar crimson might still be her outright favourite, but all the rest... They were like old friends coming back after an extended vacation - and not a single one would add even the slightest to her waistline!

Victoria was still Victoria. Her book got published, too, to great academic applause. Inevitably, she got bored and found herself in need of a further artistic project, but she had family, she had acceptance and, most of all, she had her darling Estella. The girl who she seemed to fall a little bit more in love with, every night after.

Hmm, she began to consider. Perhaps it was time to reopen Fang Noir...
